Hello Out There!

Sorry for the blog silence the last few weeks.  I didn't really have a lot to post about and/or didn't really feel like posting.  I read through all of your blogs and you inspired me to write!  Reading your blogs showed me that I don't need to post a long/dramatic/life-altering post every day.  Thanks for the uplifting reminder.  :)

I thought I would update you on a few random things that have been going on.

1.  Our bathroom is broken.  Like, a lot.

2.  I have been trying out some new recipes in the kitchen.  A lot of Mexican food actually.  It was a relief to feel interested in that again.

3.  Cameron is doing great in school even though it is super hard at times.

4.  I have been reading a TON of books.  The book binge started with a gift from Melissa for my birthday and has only gotten worse.  I love finding great books to read and enjoy.

5.  Vintage computer games from childhood have been haunting my dreams.  After a year-long search, I finally found the Carmen Sandiego computer game I used to play about age 8ish.  It brings back a lot of fond memories.

I think that's about it...  Hopefully I will have some more "exciting" posts later this month.  Have a great week!

Love,

Courtney

Fourth of July 2012

This 4th was the first year was that Cameron's family was coming over so I wanted to make sure that we had a lot of good food.

I tried to make cupcakes with blue, red and white food coloring.  The tops look kind of odd.

Since the tops look weird, I decided to frost them and make flags out of Twizzlers and blueberries.

Tawnee helped me out so much!

Here is a better picture of the cupcakes.

I tried out jello jigglers for the first time and learned a valuable lesson.  Always, use a TON of cooking spray or your jigglers will not come out of the mold.

This was a jello salad with cherries on top.   (This independence day we were obsessed with jello apparently).

Cameron making pancakes for breakfast.

Here is actual proof that we had a green salad.  (Just for you Mom).

All of us playing Apples to Apples.  We had a cool, shady spot in front of the church.

Tawnee was able to make a little bit of money painting faces!  She is really good at that.

Oh, here is an inside look at the cupcake.  You can see the layers a little bit better.

Cameron watching the parade.

Cameron, Tawnee and Shane.  I miss Shane!

Cameron again.  We love to watch the parade.

The different wards always do really neat floats.

Idaho Falls has some really great 4th activities.  Going to the Greenbelt and seeing all of the booths, watching the parade, and finally seeing the beautiful fireworks.

It's Snowing!

Hello everyone!  I hope that you are having a wonderful fall/winter so far.  We are doing very well.  I hope to have an update with pictures soon, but for now you will have to bear with me.
Cameron is doing very well at work.  He loves his job and will start school in January. (That wasn't really much of an update, but what can I say, his life is boring :) )
I am loving school even though it is crazy.  I have actually sewn two projects (try not to fall off your chair) and am learning to make many new dishes in my cooking class.
Cameron and I are looking forward to spending the holidays with our families.  We also think it is really funny that we had our first snowfall before Halloween.
That's all for now, hopefully we will have an update with pictures very soon.  You can look forward to pumpkin carving pictures, project pictures and much more :)

Love,

Courtney

Randomness or I'M STUCK!

I thought I would post some random pictures and also a few things I've been thinking about.
**Warning** **Warning**  **Possible negativity coming up** **Warning**
I have been contemplating where my life is.  I feel like I am not moving forward.  My life has become stagnant and I don't want it to be that way.  Does anyone else feel this way?  Anyways, ahem, sorry about that.  Here are a few pictures of things that have been going on in our life.
Yummy cupcakes we made for Valentine's Day :)

Aunt Kathy's Brownies :)  Y-U-M!  Except a messed up a teeny bit :)  Added twice as much buttermilk as it needed... Whoops!

Cameron wearing a crown.  :)  We went to this really fun party store just to look around :)

Our new entertainment center!  Ignore all of the clutter on top :)

Navajo tacos!  They ended up having waaaay too much salt in them!  I need a new recipe!  Any takers?

That's what's been going on in our life!  I hope that you are having a great day!

Love,

Courtney

New Recipes

With all the company here, I have been trying LOTS of new recipes.  I thought I would share some of my favorites.  The first one is a recipe from a certain Italian restaurant I'm sure you are familiar with.  This is a recipe for their fettuccine alfredo here.   I originally got this recipe from an unnamed source.  I also added about a cup of mozzarella cheese, per instructions from said source.   Another recipe that I really enjoyed was for a white chicken enchilada casserole, you may find that link here.  The first recipe is a little harder because you have to stir it constantly, but the second one is easy peasy.  It was written as a crock pot recipe, but I just put it in a casserole dish and baked it at 350 for about 20 minutes.  Thanks to Alyson for giving me the ever so helpful tip about allrecipes.com.  Also, to Rachel for telling me how to do the link thingy!  Thanks as well to that unnamed source (you know who you are).  Finally, thanks to my family for being very brave guinea pigs!

Love,

Courtney

Questions.....

I am trying to find some new recipes to try out.  We are getting tired of eating the same old thing every week.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Courtney
