Stand Back Salt Lake City!

Hello from Salt Lake!  We are very lucky to be able to spend some extra time off here in Salt Lake.  Today we went to Temple Square and enjoyed many of the wonderful sights and displays there.  I was very grateful for a pair of sister missionaries that showed us this wonderful video presentation about families.  It was a really touching video, and I liked it a lot.  We actually went to a different room for each part of the video.  They had a really neat display for each room.  Very cool.   We met so many wonderful people who were willing to tell us about all kinds of awesome things.  One gentleman actually showed us what building the Prophet lives in! I love the feeling that echoes around Temple Square.  Everyone is kind and friendly and beauty is all around.  Unfortunately, it was quite rainy, so that put a bit of a damper on today.  What an awesome day!  I hope that your day was just as good!

General Conference

I have really enjoyed this General Conference.  This was the first time I bawled through an entire talk.   You always hear the stories about people who prayed for the answer to a question they had.  This was the first time I experienced it for myself.  It was an amazing experience....I also enjoyed the Music and the Spoken Word.  It really hit a chord with me.

I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything about what is going on with our family.  Nothing new is really going on.  We moved to a new four-plex.  We broke our phone....So make sure we get your numbers again :D  Not a lot has been going on with us, but it is good to be back :)

Fourth of July Fun

This year Cameron and I decided to continue our tradition of going to Idaho Falls to see the fireworks with Aunt Wendy and family.  Little did we know the fun we were in store for.  We arrived at the fireworks an hour early, so we decided to play some cards games such as It Came To Pass, Old Maid, etc.  Ever few minutes an unknown man decided to scare the pants off of us by throwing loud fireworks in random places.  Needless to say, we were all afraid for our lives :D  As soon as the fireworks finally started, we realized that we were unfortunately seated in the worst spot possible, due to the position of the trees in front of us.  So, we all congregated to a new spot that allowed us to see most of the fireworks (the rest were blocked by a Jiffy Lube).  Now, Mr. Obnoxious Firework man sat diagonally in front of us.  He decided to make annoying comments, interspersed with horrible singing of certain patriotic songs.  The fireworks were beautiful, however, even more distracting, was the street in front of us.  On this street were two lights, one lane of both the lights were blocked by either a police car with flashing lights or a barricade. You would think that would make the impassibility of the said blocked lanes clear, however some cars just did not get it.  Hence, the entertainment.  Whenever a car would try to approach the blocked intersection, they would be yelled at by the  policeman in charge of directing traffic.  We heard such scoldings as, "You can't go this way!  That's why there's a police car in the way!" and, "There's a barricade here, that means you can't cross!" and my favorite, "TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON!"  After the fireworks were over, I suggested we stay and listen to silly people be yelled at by the cops, but it was to no avail.  I guess some people don't find that as entertaining as others (or they were just tired).  This is where the real fun started.  For some reason, we decided to go to a Wal-Mart that was in the middle of a traffic jam caused by people leaving the fireworks.  Getting there was no problem, trying to get back was the hard part.  It took us an eternity to make it home through the constipated streets of post-firework Idaho Falls.  Oh well, it was worth it :)
Thanks to Aunt Wendy and her family for a wonderful Fourth of July!!
Happy Independence Day!!

I'm kinda back :)

Sorry about the blog silence ;)  Our internet is down right now :)  I am at my Aunt Melinda and Uncle Russell's house, and they are letting me use their internet.  We should have internet by this weekend :)
Nothing really excited has happened....We went to the Green Canyon Hot Springs for my birthday.  It was really fun :D  They have a hot pool, a cold (and I mean COLD) pool, and a normal pool.
Besides that, our life has been pretty boring :)  Hopefully I will have something more excited to share next time :D

Repentance or an actual meaningful blog posting

Okay, okay....I feel very ashamed....I have been reading over all of your blogs, and I know that I have been slacking on mine :)  I haven't really posted anything meaningful for awhile :) I guess I didn't really have anything nice to say, so I followed the old adage, don't say anything at all.  So, here is an actual, meaningful blog posting.
Nothing new has really been going on in our lives.  Cameron might be looking at a promotion pretty soon, so that's great news!  (He really deserves it, he works so hard!!)  Mybirthdayiscomingup....Okay, moving on.  Mother's Day is tomorrow...I'm not quite sure how that's going to go... :) I'm not sure if I will make it through the day without having a nervous break down....So, we'll see :)
Anyways...That's pretty much what is going on in our lives :)

Love you!!!

20

I can't believe that I will be 20 in a few weeks.  It really makes me reflect on what I have and even more on what I haven't accomplished.  I think about where I thought I would be when I was 20 :)  I know that it isn't old...But it is a new decade :)

I'm Baaaaaaack!

Hello! I'm back from my little hiatus!  I had surgery recently, so I think I had a good reason for one (a hiatus, I mean).
Well...What to say, what to say?  Cameron wants me to blog about this apartment that we went to look at in Saint Anthony.  It was HORRIBLE!!  The floor was all cement, and DIRTY!  The bathrooms were communal (aka, we had to SHARE!)  And everything was filthy around the bathroom/shower/laundry room!  When we got to the kitchen, I had a little hope.  It was still tiny, and had only ONE outlet!!  The kitchen wrapped had a little door that led to the bedroom/living room which was TINY!!  It was literally smaller than most people's living room.  ALL of it!  It makes all of the "bad" apartments that you see on TV look like mansions!  For example, the one that Sondra and Elvin live in on the Cosby Show?  This apartment made it look both like a huge house and in good repair!  Wow!
Anyways...We did find a good trailer house to live in, in Rexburg.  We had to move out of our apartment yesterday....I won't write about it today, but it made me want to make a horror movie called "The Managers-Hand Over Your Rent-Or You'll Pay"  Don't get me wrong, our managers were AWESOME!  They were really great!  It was just a very stressful time for all.  I will blog about it tomorrow :)

Courtney

Tighten Those Abs!

I am looking for a workout that will help me tighten my abdominal muscles because I heard that will help a lot in labor :)  Any suggestions?  I really love the T-Tapp workouts, but I only have the Step Away the Inches one.  I am scheduled to go in for a ultrasound in 2 weeks!  I am so excited to be able to see the baby!!  I really don't know how far along I am yet...But hopefully I will be able to find out then.
Cameron and I are also looking for a new apartment to move into, because our lease is up pretty soon!  I can't wait to move into a bigger place, but I am also dreading it because, well, it's moving!
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,

Me

?

I am so glad that the week is half over :)  I had such a fun time last weekend that it has been hard to go back to the "real world".  I can't wait until the weekend again :)  We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes :)  I hope you are all having a great week :)

For Grandpa

Dear Grandpa Alder,
I just wanted to tell you that I was remembering you today.  I was remembering your stories.  I was remembering your laugh.  I was remembering your dedication to your grandkids.  I was remembering your love of family history.  I was thinking about how much I miss you.  I know you would be so happy that you are going to have great-grandchild!  I know that you would love Cameron like he was always a member of the family.  I know that you are with Baby Wenniel and Judy right now and you are all having a big party!  I miss you and I just wanted to remember you today.

Love,

Courtney

I am sooooooooooo tired all the time!  It drives me crazy!  It seems like I need twice as much sleep as I did before.  Is this normal, or am I just going crazy?  I also saw the cutest baby clothes at Sears the other day! I can't wait to start buying baby stuff!  I am getting really excited for the baby to come!  I can't wait!

Random Blog Post

I don't know if anyone actually ever reads this blog, but for some reason, I keep writing it anyway :)  Today is Friday, but Cameron has to work tomorrow so it's more like a fake Friday.  I hate fake Fridays.  In other news, I have officially decided to dye my hair pink and join the underwater circus.  Just kidding :)  I was just testing to see if you were paying attention :)  Well.  I hope you are having an amazing week :)  TTFN

Three Is A Beautiful Number...

Before you get all excited and freak out, I need to clear this up I AM NOT PREGNANT.  However, we will be having a new Wadsworth join our little family temporarily.   Landon, Cameron's brother, will be coming to live with us this weekend.  I am very excited for him to come and stay with us!!  I can't wait!  This is going to be a big change in our lives, but it is a very good change.  It will be weird to have another person around the house with us.  I will have someone to hang out with during the day and I get to try out my teaching skills. :)  I am worried that I will not be good at being a sister/teacher/friend to him.  I don't know if I am going to do a good job.  I just hope that he can be patient with me while I learn :)  Any advice?

Attack Of The Salad Tongs

I've been on kind of a Sherlock Holmes kick lately.  When I say Sherlock Holmes, of course I mean the Basil Rathbone versions.  These are the only way to go as far as I'm concerned :)  Anyways, I had only been watching ones I had seen before.  However, today I realized that all of the are available on YouTube because they all are on the public domain.  So, I began watching The Scarlet Claw.  Basically, it is about this French Canadian village that is being plagued by a monster who...Does not do very nice things to his victims.  His weapon of choice is a scarlet claw that remarkable resembles those kitchen tongs that are used to serve spaghetti.  Needless to say I was very calm and rational about the whole movie...Or maybe I was frozen with fear in my room, worried that some maniac with a kitchen utensil was going to kill me...But let's go with the first one :) One of the things I realized that made these movies so different from the crime dramas today is that they didn't show gory bodies or have raunchy language or scenes.  These movies are good based solely on the acting and the awesome storyline and suspense.  (Sometimes they are a little too good at the suspense part :))  So, I learned my lesson about watching scary movies without my husband there to protect me and also that we are having a sad drop in the quality of our movies.  But, speaking of wonderful husbands, I had the most amazing Valentine's Day!  I want to wait until I have the pictures up to describe it, but it was AMAZING!!!  How was your Valentine's Day?  What do you think about the violence and other yucky stuff in movies today?  What are your favorite suspenseful movies?

New Blog

I completely forgot my password for my other blog so I had to start a new one.  But...Anywhoo, today's post is about Valentine's Day (today being V-day and all).  Cameron totally took over making plans for today, so I have no idea what he has planned.  I can't wait!!  Our apartment complex had a writing contest for Valentine's Day and I am also waiting to see who will win!!  There are several "date themed" gift certificates at stake, so I am anxious to see if I won.  Overall, today is all about waiting, which is my least favorite pastime.  :(  I just need to take relax and think about other things.

This weekend we are going to my parent's house for two exciting events!  My brother is getting his eagle scout award.  This brother is also going to baptize my younger brother the next day!  I am so thrilled!  It is going to be awesome!!!

One of my goals is to post on this blog regularly so that I can have something worth writing about.  I am going to be embarking on some new projects pretty soon and it will be great to have some motivation through this blog.  I am hoping this year will be the best yet.
