Nailed It!!

Here is another episode of my attempts to be creative with nail painting.

 1.  Zebra Nails

How it was supposed to look:
How it actually looked:
The idea behind this design was to place random stripes and used a lighter color to highlight them.  It didn't turn out too terribly awful.  I have a really hard time with designs that are supposed to be random and creative.  Also, the right hand looks AWFUL!  I should also note that all of these designs come from a nail pen booklet.  The link is above.

2.  Camo Nails

How it was supposed to look:

 How it actually looked:
YUCKO!  This one did NOT turn out AT ALL!  The concept was very simple, just put random camo colors all over your nail.  But it was NOT that easy for me.  Again, I cannot do nail art that requires randomness.

3.  Lady bug

How it was supposed to look:

 How it actually looked:
This one turned out okay.  I have a really difficult time drawing straight lines.  You just draw a y on your nail and then fill in the bottom.  Then you polka dot the whole thing and make the eyes.  I am certain it would look like a zombie train wreck on my right hand though.

4.  Watermelon Nails

How it was supposed to look:

How it actually looked:

This one was SUPER easy!  The nail pens really made it a cinch.  You just paint your entire nail pink, cover the top with green , put the white stripe across the top and put the seeds underneath.  This would not have been possible without the nail pens. At all.

5.  Leopard Print Nails

I think you know how it was supposed to look.

How it actually looked:
This design was really easy.  You just do a bunch of random spots and outline them, leaving some sections un-outlined. If you tilt your head and squint your eyes, it looks amazing :)

6.  Flower nails

How it was supposed to look:
How it actually looked:

Yikes, this one was awful.  It looks extremely easy, but for some reason I could NOT do it.  It looks like a bunch of flowers that washed up after a hurricane!  Here is another attempt:
It STILL did not work for me!

7.  Chevron Nail Design

How it was supposed to look:

How it actually looked:

Let me just say that the nail pens DO NOT look good spread over a large area.  You aren't supposed to press down on your nail with the pen, but I kept wanting to do it anyway.  Heads up, that DOES NOT work.

8.  Fourth of July Nail Design

How it was supposed to look:
How it actually looked:

Eh.  This one was okay.  The nail pens are really good at making small dots and small stripes.

9.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Nail Design

How it was supposed to look:
How it actually looked:

This one was fairly easy, but it was surprisingly difficult to get the eyes even.

10.  Ghost Nail Design
How it was supposed to look:
How it actually looked:

These ghostly appendages made my ghost look more like an octopus!  The ghost body was fairly easy though :)

11.  Penguin Nail Design

How it was supposed to look:
 How it actually looked:

This one was fairly simple to do, although the penguin does have a VERY crooked body.  These last few  were created same person who did the designs I tried to emulate in my other nail art post which you can read here.

I had such a fun time trying out these designs!  I hope it was as fun to read for you as it was for me to create!

Thanks so much for reading!

Girl's Night!!

While my Mom was here, we had an amazing girl's night at Wendy's house.
We soaked our feet in epsom salts and peppermint oil.

My feet felt so amazing!

We were also watching Leap day at the same time.

We all painted either our toenails, fingernails or both.

This is a tweezer-type hair removal thingy.  Mom loved it!

We had so much fun painting our nails!  It was awesome to have everyone all together.

Trip To Spokane

These are the pictures from my trip to Spokane.
Jonathan wanted me to take a picture of his fierce football player pose.  I can't believe how big he is!  His coach says that he is one of the best players on the team.  GO JOJO!

Miranda giving Jeremy a much needed haircut.  She did a really great job, but unfortunately Jeremy decided to trim his sideburns and then it all went downhill from there.

They realized that the vacuum was really great for removing unwanted haircut leftovers.

We went camping to try out Dad's new camper.  This is the cabin that Anton built.  Isn't it cool!?  I love it!
Here is the new camper that the boys spent the last few weeks fixing up.

Jonathan riding around.

We made lots of really yummy food.  One day we decided to make enchiladas.  YUM!  It was so much fun!!

Chicken pieces.

Here is our filling.

We also made baked spaghetti.  That was delicious.

We made two different pans, one with spicy sausage and one without.  I have to say that they were both pretty good, though one caused some wicked heartburn.

Brooke and I after a pretty rough day.  She LOVES these cereal pieces, however if you try to take them away from her, she will cut you.

Shopping trip with these two cuties.  By the way, there will be a Lylah post later, don't you worry.

These two love to play together!

This is a sliver that Jonathan had in his hindquarters.

Miranda showed me this AMAZING store with a ton of cool stuff.  Here are the funniest shirts.

So adorable!

Love this!

Hahahahahaha....

So pretty!

Eh, this one is okay.

I want this shirt!
Miranda and I painted our nails with new polish that we bought.  These are Miranda's nails.

These are mine.

This girlie is so funny!

We tried to take a cute picture of them together, and these are the results.

I like this one, even though only one third of the picture is looking at the camera.

While I was down there, I also had my wisdom teeth removed.  (Don't read on if you have a weak stomach).  I was fully freaked out by the time I got to the dentist.  He put me on the laughing gas before the shots even started.  I felt great.  I was literally laughing out loud at nothing.  The procedure itself went great.  I only had three teeth, so that made it easier.  However, the bad part came when I got home.  Apparently I inherited my Dad's sensitivity to hydros as I puked everywhere after being on them only a few hours.  Needless to say, the first day was miserable.  Then my wonderful dentist prescribed an anti-nausea medication that fixed everything.  But, then I got a horrible cold.
Despite the teeth stuff, it was a great trip and I miss everyone already.

Love,

Courtney
